“New Zealanders Friendly And Forthcoming”

LONDON, December 25

The Governor-General-designate of New Zealand (Sir Cyril Newall) is taking to the Dominion a picture entitled “Return .at Dawn,” which the officers and men of the New Zealand heavy bomber squadron commissioned Mr Charles Cundall, A.R.A., to paint The picture shows Wellington bombers returning from operations, to the aerodrome where the squadrop is stationed. Wing-Commander Kay handed the painting to Sir Cyril Newall, who, in ;'eply, said: “It is not easy to leave one’s home and friends, particularly at present, and go thousands of miles away, but I have met a lot of New Zealanders in past months. They are so friendly and forthcoming, and have been a great help to me.”
