Britain’s Freedom From Infections Diseases

[British Official Wireless ] (Received 11.30 ,a.m.) RUGBY, December 25,

The fears expressed by the medical profession that shelter life might lead to epidemics have not, so far, been realised. Britain is in fact freer of infectious diseases than at this time last year.

Reports from medical officers of health to the Ministry of Health show that there is no more sickness than usual throughout the country, and in London there is slightly less diphtheria and considerably less measles. Emphasis is laid on the need for a continuance of precautionary measures, particularly as the first three months of the New Year represent the most critical period for infectious diseases, notably influenza and measles.
