Whangarei High School Gym. Competition

The annual competition of * the High School gymnastic class was held last Thursday afternoon on the school grounds. The open-air conditions were unfamiliar to the competitors and the heat was very trying, nevertheless a high standard was reached, especially in the senior division.

The judge, Mr J. Lawson, commented particularly on the smartness and cleanness of movement shown by the senior champion, K. Going. Results. Tricks were performed on the horizontal bar, the parallel bars, the Roman rings and on the horse. Results: Senior division, out of 100 points.— K. Going, 95, 1; O. Haigh, 87, 2; L. Johnson. 86, 3; J. Barrell, 85, 4. Intermediate division, out of 80 points.—C. Beehre, 68, 1; E. Johnson, 66, 2; M. Tebbutt, 60, 3. Junior division, out of 60 points.— R, Blomfield, 48, 1; B. Haycock, 46, 2; R. Florance, 45, 3.
