[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND. This Day.
A reduction of £3,883,256 in property valuations was announced today by the Valuation Department, for Auckland City. This large reduction is arrived at after taking into account a general marking-down of rateable capital values in the inner area of the city, which was revised last year, and an .advance in values in the surrounding residential suburbs due to housing development. As a result of the changes the total rateable capital value of .the main part of the city and four districts included with it is reduced from £30,394,453 to £25,578.107, and the total for the whole of the city area comes down from £50,520,668 to £46.623,992.
