Measles Not Prevalent In Township

Rumours circulating in Whangarei that ,a serious outbreak of measles had occurred at" Hikurangi, were proved groundless when inquiries were made this week. The town clerk (Mr W. Thomas) said that he had heard of only one case of measles in the district .and that was not severe.

The local doctor, interrogated on the matter, said he had not heard of a case recently in the district. He had been interviewed by phone regarding one patient who, by the symptoms, might have contracted measles, but there was no definite indication that this was the case.

Certainly there was no major outbreak in the district.
