An extensive list of appointments to the Third Echelon, with seniority in units as indicated, taking effect in most cases from August 27, was gazetted last night. The list includes the following: Sixth Field Regiment, New Zealand Artillery.—Lieut.-Colonel C. E. Weir, R.N.Z.A.. commanding officer; Major C. L. Walter, second in command (temporary); Major J. M. Mitchell, battery commander; Captain (temporary major) A. T. Rawle, battery commander (temporary). Seventh Anti-Tank Regiment, 33rd Battery.—Major R. E. Sleigh. Divisional Signals. Major G. H. Heal, N.Z.S.C.
Twenty-fourth (Auckland) Battalion. —Lieut.-Colonel C. Shuttleworth, N.A. S.C., commanding officer; Major A. C. W. Mantell-Harding, second in command; Major F. G. Dill, company commander; Major R. V. Closey, company commander.
Railway Operating Group, New Zealand Engineers.—Lieut.-Colonel A. H. Sage, commanding officer; Major F. W. Aicken, officer commanding 16th Railway Operating Company; Major J. A. Jull, headquarters Railway Operating Group; Major G. T. Poole, officer commanding 17th Railway Operating Company.
