R.A.F. bombers attacked enemy aerodromes, including Flushing, Brussels and Antwerp, last night. In the course of their operations last night, squadrons from the Bomber Command heavily bombed enemy air bases in Belgium and Holland, and disorganised road, rail and river traffic over a wide area from the Rhineland to the French frontier.

Raids on ’Dromes. \ Raids on aerodromes began shortly after midnight, when almost simultaneous attacks were im.m.hcu at Flushing, Brussels, Antwerp, Venlo and Charleroi. Salvoes of heavy bombs at Flushing and Antwerp started several lives. Nearly 150 high explosive and incendiary bombs were dropped cn aerodromes at Brussels and Charleroi. Buildings at Venlo were wrecked by direct hits and fires were started. A railway bridge across the Belgian main road was destroyed. The R.A.F. in France pounded away day and night on German reinforcements heading for the Amiens gap to support the German bid for the Channel ports. All Return Safely. Operations were also carried out against enemy communications in Belgium and Western Germany. Medium bombers severely damaged a concentration of enemy mechanised forces near Boulogne. All our bombers returned safely. Royal Air Force machines destroyed or severely damaged 28 enemy planes today. Five R.A.F. fighters are reported missing. —2.55 It is officially stated in Paris that British and French planes shot dowrn 6G German machines during five hours’ fighting at Boulogne yesterday. An Air Ministry report says that R.A.F. heavy bombers all last night without'loss continued their attacks on enemy communications and also enemy aerodromes in Belgium and Holland.
