Shorthorn Cows To £l3 13/- At Clearing Sale

Walter Wakelin, Ltd., reports a successful clearing sale on account of Mr R. F. Dwyer, at Otakairangi, yesterday. The herd of 50 pedigree and grade Shorthorn cows all changed hands and made the satisfactory average of £7 10/- for the sound cows. Pedigree cows made from 7gns. to 13gns., and grade cows £4 10/- to £9 10/-; a large offering of store cattle and boner cattle sold under keen competition. A totaj resulted, the major portion of the offering going to Maungaturoto, Dargaville and Okaihau. Quotations: Pedigree Shorthorn cows, 7gns. to 13gns.; grade cows, £4 10/- to £9 10/-; unsound cows, £4 to £6; boner cows, £3 to £4; yearling Shorthorn bulls, £2 15/- to £5; yearling Shorthorn steers, to £2 17/-; yearling Shorthorn heifers, £1 10/to £3 6/-; steer calves, 17/- to £2; 2-year Shorthorn heifers, r.w.b., £6.
