Slight Improvement In North Recruiting

Slight improvement in the number of enlistments received from the Northland area for the Third Echelon of the Second Expeditionary Force was shown on Saturday, four recruits registering. They were:— Whangarei.—W. Hotop, G. F. Dowling (Mareretu). Kaikohe. —L. Warmington (Horeke), C. Warmington (Horeke). Wet Weather in Auckland The recruiting announcement from the Drill Flail, Rutland Street, this morning, shows that a furtherHß men have signed up for service with the Third Echelon. Though this is a considerable drop on the figures in the last two lists, the wet weather may be put down as one factor causing a decline. Today’s Enlistments » The improvement shown on Saturday was continued again today, when, up to 3 p.m. a further five enlistments were registered as follows: Whangarei—K. Tito (Portland), F. Mee (Portland). Kaitaia—W. F. Haywood, P. H. D. Smith (Waiharara). Kaikohe —L. A. Carr (Waimatenui).
