Altmarck. The Court of Inquiry into the Altmarck affair has opened at Oslo. The British and German Consuls were present. The main witnesses were Norwegian naval officers and fishermen.

Anzacs.—The Prime Minister has received a message from Major-Gen-eral Freyberg, Commander of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force, giving an account of activities in the camp near Cairo. He states that leave is being granted each evening. and also on Saturday afternoons. The New Zealand troops seem very popular with the people of Cairo, whose hospitality has warmed them to the city. Advanced training is also being undertaken shortly.
