Supplied Maori Girls With Beer

L Special to “Northern Advocate’’] KAITAIA, This Day. Appearing before Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M., at the Kaitaia Magistrate's Court yesterday, Charles Henry Hoodless v/as fined £ls, with costs, on two charges of supplying liquor to two Maori girls. It was stated in evidence that accused and the two girls, aged 19 and 15, were passengers in a car running between Wainui and Herekino. Near Herekino accused produced some beer, giving the girls a drink. “This is a most serious offence,” commented the Magistrate, in warning Hoodless that he was liable to a much greater fine than the one imposed.
