Slate Electricity Far Nelson
NELSON, This Day. The Government has agreed to take over the Cobb River hydro-electric scheme, which is to supply the Nelson district with electricity, if the offer it has made to the Hume (Cobb River) Company is accepted. This decision was announced by the Minister of Public Works to delegates from interested local, bodies yesterday. Mr Semple said that Mr J. Wood, Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works Department, considered it would be about two years before the Cobb scheme could be completed.
