Nazis Try To Discredit Internal Horror Reports

(Received 11 a.m.) LONDON, January 30. The German representations to the Vatican concerning the broadcast relating to ' the Nazi persecutions in Poland are apparently part of a counter-campaign designed to discredit reports which are actually more copious and more alarming in Germany than outside, says the Berlin corresporident of the “New York Times” (Mr Otto D. Tolischus). These reports are brought or sent by officials or police, either deploring or boasting of the methods used in Poland, but agreeing that what is happening is little less than national racial extermination. The description of the method circulating in Germany is so appalling tha only an impartial investigation could ever establish the truth, but few Germans doubt its accuracy, especially since it is known that Col-onel-General Blaskowitz protested against the methods used.
