Bay Team Defeat Hokianga

[Special to ”Northern Advocate ”] KAIKOHE, This Day.

In a return match played at Horelce on Monday, the Bay of Island representative cricket team defeated the Hokianga team by 72 runs in the first innings. Ideal weather conditions prevailed but the game was devoid of good batting. Bowling was of a reasonably good standard, Pearson taking four for one and Middleton six for three. The Bay team opened play and runs came slowly, and the team was dismissed for 89 runs. This low total was nevertheless higher than Hoki.anga’s, which was a meagre 17.
