Unified Allied Buying Commission In U.S.
NEW YORK, January 24
The official unification of the British and French purchasing commissions have been completed. The joint headquarters are in Broad Street, New York, near Wall Street. The obligation to avoid a conflict with the United States defence programme is stressed. • The staff comprises 90 British and 170 French officials. They include the Air Officer Commanding No. 25 (Armoured) Group in Britain (Air Vice-Marshal H, M. Cave-Brown-Cave, the president of the Western Electric Co. (Mr Edgar S. Bloom), and a Bi’itish director of purchasing.
