Xmas. Holiday Travel Busier This Year
■[Special to “Northern Advocate” J AUCKLAND, This Day. A total of 81 express trains will he arriving at Auckland from various parts of the North Island between this morning and Monday night. Holiday travel this year is even brisker than that of the Christmas week-end last year, and greatlyaugmented express ' schedules will provide for the handling of about 29,000 passengers, inward and outward, in the four days. Augmented services will continue to run to and from Wellington through the holiday period. Last year, from the corresponding Friday to Monday, 16 expresses were despatched from Auckland. This Christmas the total has been increased to 20. Whangarei and Opua will also receive extra trains. Two extra loft for Opua today, and there will be an extra express tomorrow. Increased trains will also come to Auckland from the North.
