Now Under Active Service Conditions

LSpecial to “Northern Advocate”! AUCKLAND, This Day.

As from last Thursday, troops of the First Echelon of the Special Force are under active service conditions and governed by King's Regulations instead of New Zealand Regulations. This change is an important one in the life of the soldier.

It means a general tightening up of discipline, and a whole list of penalties, all beginning “when on active service,” may be invoked as punishment for certain offences.

Certain offences, which, under ordinary conditions, might not be regarded as serious, assume a new gravity under active service conditions, and punishments are .accordingly more severe.

Provision is also made for simplifying the handling of offences, and commanding offcers are given more power 'to deal with their men.
