Wants Distribution Of Patriotic Grants

Easiness firms with branches in country towns should be asked to make donations through the branches, rather than contribute to the central kind from their main offices.

This opinion was expressed at a meeting of the Whangarei District Patriotic Finance Sub-committee, when advice was received from the Automobile Association (Auckland) that it had made a grant to tile Auckland patriotic funds instead of to the vari-

ous committees operating in towns where it had branch offices.

It was decided to ask the association that future grants should be made through branch offices. Tire Women’s Activities Sub-com-mitee was congratulated on the success of its efforts on the recent flag day. and at the "Paddy’s market" yesterday . It was also decided to ask the subccmmitleee to conduct another flag day cn January 19. The staging of a major effort each month was also approved by the committee.
