Jersey Classification Returns
For some years Northland breeders have been breeding and buying the best Jersey cows in New Zealand, and this year’s classification by the jersey classification officers have proved that ilke breeds like.
The president of the Whangarei Jersey Club (Mr Jim Stevens) said that this year’s classifications were very fair and consistent, and that the classification officers had properly kept the standard of classification high.
“If you get a v.h.c. cow, she is a goo*! cow and fit to breed a sire for any herd,” he said.
Among Northland classifications were; Mr W. D. S. Collins (Maungaturoto), two h.c’s; Mrs Cruller (Otaika), two h.c’s.; M% R. J.'Buddy (Waipu), one v.h.c., five h.c’s: Mir G. Hodgson (Whakapara), eight h.c’s; H. E. Johnson and Co. (Kiripaka), three v.h.c’s; Mr M. Maras (Huarau), two v.h.c’s, three h.c’s; Mr J. A. Moffat (Turiwiri), five h.c’s; Mr T. V. Nutsford, one v.h.c., four h.c’s; Mr C. P. Snowden (Paparoa), five h.c’s; Mr Snell (Ngunguru), one v.h.c., 13 h.c’s; Mr C. Stevens (Maungatapere), one v.h.c., 13 h.c’s; Mr R. N. Stirling (Matakohe), three v.h.c’s, eight h.c’s; Mr J. Taylor (Kamo), one v.h.c., six' h.c’s; Mr H. N, Thompson (Kaitaia), one v.h.c.. 10 h.c’s; Dr. G. Walker (Maunu), six v.h.c’s, 11 h.c’s: Mr A.
