Books, Magazines Wanted

Books and magazines of any kind are required for the use of soldiers.

An .appeal is being made in Whangarei, as in other parts of the Dominion, for literature, the effort being under the direction of the Patriotic branch of the Department of Internal Affairs.

The literature is to be placed on transports conveying New Zealand troops overseas and, as the collection must be completed by January 5, there remains litle time in which to carry out the work.

Parcels of books and magazines may be left at the Whangarei County office for despatch by the Whangarei Empire Ex-Service Association to headquarters.

Whangarei is the collecting centre for Northland and other districts have received advice regarding the forwarding of parcels to the central office.
