Petrol Rationing Ceases After To-day
No restrictions on petrol will apply after today.
As previously intimated by the Minister for Supply, the restrictions concerning the rationing of petrol will be withdrawn after today. Licenses and coupons, however, have to be preserved for use if it should be feund necessary to reimpose restrictions later.
Garages have been directed to retain cards relating to customei’s holding ordinary licenses and to keep them in safety so that they can be readily available for use if it is decided to reinstitute the rationing system at a later date.
Emphasis is placed on this point by the Fuel Controller to safeguard the future convenience of customers.
Monthly Returns
Monthly returns of vendors’ issues and purchases of petrol for November have to be submitted within seven days after the end of the month, together with motorists’ petrol coupons.
Attention is; also directed to the fact that special licenses must be returned to the issuing licensing authority immediately the licensee has obtained the quantity of fuel authorised or after the period f6r which the license is operative has expired.
