Waiwera Refloated After Fortnight

[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] WHAKATANE, This Day. The Auckland trawler, Waiwera, which grounded at Whale Island a fortnight ago and suffered extensive damage, w.as floated off yesterday. The operation was carried out during the high seas, which were baked up by the storm. The sister trawler Waimana, acting as salvage vessel, towed the disabled vessel to deep water. The temporary repairs to the damaged vessel’s hull are reported to be holding well, and the Waiwera now awaits the coming of calmer water for the long tow to Tauranga, where permanent repairs will be carried out.
