Dalgety & Company, Limited, report a large yarding, comprised chiefly of young cattle and dairies, at the Paparoa sale. Owing to the dry weather, the prices were decidedly easier than late rates, but vendors met the market, and the majority of the sheep and cattle changed hands. Sheep.—Shorn wether hoggets, 15/6; 2 and 4-tooth shorn dry ewes, 21/6; shorn ewes with lamb at foot, 20/-; 6 and 8-tooth dry ewes, 13/. Cattle. Springing dairy cows. £5/5/- to £6/10/-; aged and backward, down to £3/10/-; medium heifers, £5 to £6; more backward. £3/12/6 to £4/2/6; yearling Jersey heifers, £3/5/- to £3/15/-; 3-year steers, £7/10/; 2-year steers, £3/10/ to £5/10/, according to quality; yearling steers. £2/10/ to £3/10/; fat,Jersey cows, good, £4/10/ to £5/10/; lighter, £3/10/ to £4; boner cows, £2 to £2/10/; aged and inferior, down to £l/8/; boner bulls, up to £l2 for a specially heavy beast. This bull was the heaviest that has been seen in a North Auckland saleyard for many years, and was bought on behalf of the freezing works.
