Mrs Margaret J. Smith

OBITUARY

Following twenty years’ residence in the land of her adoption, Mrs M. J. Smith (nee Charleton) passed away at the residence of her daughter, Mrs T. Cannon, Maungaturoto, on Saturday, November 4, at the ripe age of 85. Deceased came to New Zealand in 1919 to join her daughter, Mrs T. Cannon, then Jiving at Devonport. Mrs Smith’s former home was in Belfast, Ireland. One whose genial personality endeared to all who knew her during her residence in the Dominion, her death will be much regretted. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs T. Cannon, the wife of Constable Cannon, of Maungaturoto.
