Minor Dental Treatment At Government’s Expense

Several volunteers requiring only minor dental treatment to render them absolutely fit for service have been passed as fit, said Lieut.-Colonel S. H. Ward this morning. These are men requiring only minor fillings, repairs or modifications to dental plates, in cases where the necessary work may be carried out in Ux hours or less.

This work is being carried out at the Government’s expense. Cases requiring a greater amount of attention have been classified as temporarily unfit or have been turned down as unfit, stated Doctor Ward. These men, if desiring to volunteer again, will have to receive attention at their own expense. In Whangarei, there are about 40 more men to be medically and dentally examined, and these will be handled by two boards working on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
