Duke Of Kent’s Horse Landed In Melbourne
Dhoti, one of the three horses to be sent to Australia by the Duke of Kent, arrived in Melbourne last week. Hois an attractive chestnut horse, compact and sturdily built. Dhoti had rather a rough trip after passing the Cape, but he travelled particularly well; so well, in fact, that it is' be lived he has put on two inches of girth since leaving England. Dhoti measures approximately 15 hands 2 inches, and has a splendid neck and shoulder. He has a slight trace of grey through his rich chestnut coat, but the only real white about him is a small star on his forehead and a white near fetlock. His legs appear' sound, although lie appeared to have given Ins off knee a slight bump ou the journey out.
Dhoti was unbeaten as a two-year-old m England, winning each of his three races in first-class company, but failed as a three-year-old. He is now a four-year-old by Australian time, although to English time he will not be a four-ycar-old until January.
