Mr Walter Wilson, previously of Whangarei, is visiting the North as provincial organiser for the New Zealand Creditmen r s Association.

Mr and Mrs Allen Magee have returned from Auckland and are now residing at Oue. Mr D. McCarroll, of Whangarei, Child Welfare, Officer for Northland, has been granted extended leave owing to ill-health. His position is being taken by Mr S. C. Brendon, who has been filling a similar post in Wanganui.

Captain H. G. Wooller, N.Z.S.C., officer-in-charge of No. S area of the Army Department at Whangarei, has been promoted temporarily to the rank of major. Sergeant-Major J. W. McMurray, N.Z.P.S., Dargaville, has received his commission, with the rank of lieutenant.
