30 Nazi Planes Lost

A Polish communique claims that Polish defenders repulsed the German attackers, not only in East Prussia, but in Silesia.

Many German tanks had been put out of action, and 30 German aeroplanes had been brought down, 16 of them intact, within the Polish lines. It is reported that the three German towns of Gleiwitz, Ratibor and Beuthen, in Upper Silesia, have been heavily bombarded by . Polish artillery.

A Berlin News Agency reports that the bridge at Ratibor was blown up, but the Germans constructed an emergency bridge, over which they crossed.
