Labour Retains Colne Valley Seat
(Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 29. A by-election for the Colne Valley (Yorkshire) seat resulted as follows; W. G. Hall (Labour) ' 17,277 E. L. Mallalieu (Liberal) .. 9228 C. F. Pike (Conservative) 9012 The poll for the Colne Valley seat at the general election in November, 1935, resulted as follows:—E. Marklow (Labour), 16,725; E. L. Mallalieu (Liberal), 12,946; M. G. Crofton (Conservative), 10,917; W. G. Bignall (Independent), 1754.
