Personal Pars
The Presbytery of Wellington, at a special meeting yesterday, sustained a call to the Rev. J. R. Blanshard, minister of 'St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Wellington, from Scots’ Church. Adelaide, South Australia. The call was placed in the hands of Mr Blanshard, who accepted it. He will leave Wellington for Adelaide at the end of August.
A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr J. Lamb, whose death occurred recently, and who was a former shareholder in the Maungatapere Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., and at one time chairman of the board of directors, was passed at the annual meeting of shareholders on Thursday. The motion was passed by members standing in silence.
Reference to the retirement from office of Mr F. Cullen, chairman of directors for 21 years, and a member of the board for 29 years, was made in the report of the Maungaturoto Dairy Company, presented to the annual meeting on Wednesday. The secretary, Mr A. B. Cox, paid a high tribute to Mr Cullen, who had always been animated by the highest ideals, and had been out to assist the struggling farmer. The meeting placed on record high appreciation of Mr Cullen’s long and efficient service, which will be suitably recognised later.
Tributes to Mr William Wallace, a past president of the Hospital Boards Association and a former member and chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, were paid at a recent meeting of the executive of the association. Mr Wallace was presented with a cheque, the amount of which had been subscribed by various hospital boards.
