Building Of Pacific Liners Held up
t Per Press Association. Copyright! WELLINGTON, This Day. The Union Steamship Company, Ltd., announces that it was reported to a meeting of the Canadian-Australian Line principals, Sir Edward Beatty and Mr N. S. Falla, in London yesterday, that inquiries made of shipbuilders showed there was no reduction obtainable at present in earlier quotations for the proposed two liners for the Sydney-Auckland-Vancouver passenger service. Moreover, the principal shipbuilding yards are fully occupied. Consequently, it has been necessary to again postpone placing the orders.
