Franco Refuses To Believe There Will Be War
(Received 10.0 a.tn.) BURGOS, July 14. General Franco, in a statement, said: “I refuse to believe there will be war. There is no question that cannot be settled peacefully.. Danzig is not worth a war, from which Poland would gain nothing. “A war would, in any event, be fatal for Poland, and it would inevitably compromise Britain’s communication system constituting her Empire structure. “Britain should rejoice if Italy, Spain and Portugal are united in the same ideology, friendship and affection, because they allow her to be their friend. “Spain will remain neutral if. her territory and interests are not affected.”
General Franco has accepted an in* vitation to visit Italy. in September.
