Goering’s Life Attempted
LONDON, July 16.
Unofficial reports received in Lbndon say Field-Marshal Goering was wounded in the left arm in an attempt on his life, in Berlin early last Wednesday morning. The reports ,are denied in Berlin, and also by the German Embassy in London, but persist from Warsaw and Paris.
The first news of the attempted assassination was received in Warsaw from a deserter from the German Army. He alleged there was open hostility between Field-Marshal Goering and Dr. Goebbels regarding Danzig,
About 300 politicians of the Benes regime in Czechoslovakia are shortly to be fried in secret on charges of personal enrichment. For betrayal of military Karl Jurth, aged 42, was beheaded, while Alfons Luedke, aged 35, was similarly executed for organising Communist cells, says a Berlin message.
