Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report a small yarding at the Waiotira sale yesterday. Heavy bullocks made from £9 15/- to £lO 5/-; heavy fat cows, £7 7/6 to £8; lighter fat cows, £6 9/- to £7; boner cows, £1 5/- to £2; heavy vealers, to £2 7/-; dairy cows, £4 to £6. <

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co., Ltd., report holding a sale at Maungakaramea on Monday and at j Waiotira yesterday. At Maungakaramea, the yarding chiefly comprised dairy cattle. Forward dairy cows', good quality, made to £5, and best to £7 2/6; beef cows. £5 10/- to £7: empty Jersey heifers, £2 to £3 17/G; boner cows made up to late rates. At Waiotira, there was a small yarding of dairy and store stock, but a fair yarding of beef. There was also a moderate yarding of vealers and runners, which sold at improved rates. The boners yai’ded sold at late rates Dairy cows made from £5 to £7 12/6 for good quality cows close to profit; fat cows, medium, to £5 15/-; heavy, to £7 10/-; store cows, £1 15/- to £3; runners, to £5 9/-; vealers, £1 14/- to £2 12/-.

Whangarei Marksman’s Success. Advice has been received in Whangarei that Mr D. P. North, the local marksman, has been successful in annexing the Dominion pigeon championship of 21 birds at the New Zealand Gun Club’s championship meeting at Wanganui. Mr North was competing against one of the strongest fields ever to contest the event.
