Duke Of Kent Puts Defence Needs First
(Received 12.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.
The Duke of Kent has informed the Commonwealth Government that, because of the need for heavy expenditure on defence, he does not desire large-scale official ceremonies on his arrival at the State Capital. , It is possible however, says the “Sydney Morning Herald” Canberra correspondent, that the Cmraonwealth Government reception will be planned as specially fitting the occasion.
