Central Finish Movements At Waipu
Although Central triumphed over Waipu to tire tune of 17-nil, the game was by no means as one sided as the score would indicate.
Territorially Waipu had their share of the game, but. while their combination was equal to that of the visitors, bad handling at critical moments spoilt many promising movements. Individually, Central were better and it was to this factor that they owed their win. Their tries came more from bursts of individual brilliance than from any concerted movements. Conditions were ideal and fine open Rugby was played by both sides. The highlight of the match was a try by Rex Cullen, who dribbled the length of the field to score beneath the posts. It was a great try. worthy of a great forward.
Waipu were obviously not fit and tired in the last few minutes when Central were all over them. For the winners tries wore scored by Knightbndge, E. Cullen, Rex Cullen. J. Williamson. Cullen kicked a penalty and Los Snelling converted one try. Mr R. Julian refereed.
