Late Mrs. Marsh Of Hokianga Pioneering Family

Although rain had fallen steadily all day, the funeral of Mrs Marsh, which took place at Okaihau this afternoon, was one of the largest and most representative even seen in the district. Aged 23, deceased was the youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs James Ogle. She was born at Rangiahua, where Mr Joseph Ogle, her grandfather, established the hotel and general store business over 70 years 'ago.

Mrs Marsh spent her girlhood in the Rangiahua district, where she was well liked for her bright disposition. Her father is forest guard at Puketi, and her mother, who resides at Ngaruawahia, was brought North by Mr W. Land of Rangiahua. immediately after the tragedy. The husband and two daughters, Zoo, aged five, and Dawn, aged two, are left.

The smaller daughter, Dawn, who was thrown out of the car when the collision occurred on Friday afternoon, has made a confplote recovery at her homo.

Brothers of deceased are: Messrrs Robert Ogle (Waiuku). Thomas (Ngaruawahia). James (Whangarei) and Charles (Kaeo), and sisters arc Mesdaines E. Hohneck (Auckland), J. Sturge (Waiho Valley) and Fred Jackson. (Milton).

The earliest estimates of the gap to bo filled by new taxation ranged up to £2.000,000, but the fund so far has fewer liabilities than was expected.,The apprehension of the taxpayer on this score may thus be realised, so operation of import restrictions is creating another revenue gap to bo made up in other directions than Customs duties,
