Kirchmeyer Loses With Own Python Clutch
[Per Press Association. Copyright.'] WELLINGTON, This Day.
Because he declined to relinquish his python clutch when the referee awarded him a fall, the wrestler, Kirchmeyer, lost his bout at Wellington last night by a penalty fall.
Jack Donovan took the first fall in the fourth round by dumping Kirchmeyer three times. Kirchmeyer set the pace thereafter and, in the seventh round, succeeded in holding Donovan in his speciality hold. The referee slapped Kirchmeyer on the back to indicate a fall, but Kirchmeyer continued to bump Donovan violently on the mat while the official strove vainly to drag him off. Finally a penalty fall was given against Kirchmeyer.
