LONDON, June 10. Official opinion in Paris is pessimistic as to the chances of concluding /a pact with the "Soviet, says a message from the French capital. M. Laval, addressing the Senate, warned Britain and France against false illusions as to the strength of Russia and her ability to help the democracies. Addressing Grove Park Conservatives, Mr Anthony Eden said he regretted that the Government had not attempted to make a more direct approach to Russia. Hours of talk between the principals was worth months of writing. A series of experimental mass parachute jumps was carried out from great heights in the North Caucasus, near Moscow.
