Flood Pump For Demonstration Farm

Importance of electrically driven flood pumps was stressed by Mr T. R. Overton, engineer to the North Auckland Electric Power Board, when reporting to the monthly meeting of the board yesterday. “It is intended to Install an electric drainage pump at the experimental farm, Dargaville, at an early date,” said Mr Overton.

“In view of the fact that it will be used extensively for demonstrating purposes, I would recommend that the board supply a 5 h.p. motor at cost or a little less.

“It seems to me that the settlers in many parts of the board’s district will see the advantage of this type of Pood pump and the demand for electricity for such a purpose may be of importance to the board." It was decided to install a pump as suggested at cost price.
