Mr. Savage’s Warm Send-Off

Nearly 2000 people went to the railway station last evening to say good-bye to the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, who left on his return to Wellington. Mr Savage was greeted with cheers, ‘and was preceded by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, who made his way slowly to the platform. Men and women pushed and jostled in an attempt to catch a glimpse of Mr Sav'age as he went to the' train. Mr. Savage thanked the crowd for his reception in Christchurch and the warmth of the farewell.
