Level Crossing Accident Victim Progresses

Reports from the Whangaroi District Hospital state that Mrs A. O. Robinson, the passenger who was injured in the Kamo Road level crossing smash yesterday afternoon, is progressing satisfactorily. Her injuries arc not considered serious. Mrs Robinson was admitted to hospital following a collision between a car driven by Mr David Boon, an employee of Wilson's Portland Cement Company, and a south-bound goods train. At the time of the accident, a motorbus was parked on the opposite side of Iho road and on tiro north side of the line. Boon’s car was proceeding northwards. Another car proceeding into Whangarci crossed the line only a few seconds before the accident. Although the car driven by Mr Boon was extensively damaged, Mr Boon escaped practically uninjured, while Mrs Robinson received minor injuries. It is understood that there were eye-witnesses cf the accident.
