Tutekehua And Omahuta

The Tutekehua - Omahuta Institute held its monthly meeting in the Institute Hall. Mangamuka Bridge. Mrs Anton was in the chair, and there was a good attendance.

Business relating to Federation matters. and the Centennial Exhibition,

was discussed

The competition, a tray-cloth, was won by Mrs Auton. The roll-call, “Famous Women,” was responded to very well. The hostesses were Mesdames Shapland and J. Abraham. Happy Valley

The monthly meeting of the Happy Valley Institute was held at Mrs O. Wooster’s residence.

The roll-ball was “Suggestions for Improved Institute Meetings.” Mrs J. Wooster’s reading was inspired by the crusade for social justice, and dealt with a world economic peace conference.

A duet was sung by Mrs J. Wooster and Mrs R. McLeod. Afternoon tea was served.

Otakairangi

Mrs J. Dyer presided over the last meeting of the Paponga Institute, The president gave a very comprehensive report on the council meeting at Okaihau.

The roll-call was “A Day’s Diary.”

Judging of cakes resulted; Mrs Maxwell 1. Miss Grounds 2, Miss J. Mathers 3.

Misses M. and F. Grounds won the

social competition
