Moled Admiral To Retire

Admiral Sir Frederick C. Dreyer is to retire today. He was chief of staff to Lord Jellicoe and was in New Zealand with him on his naval tour in 1919 in H.M.S. New Zealand.
Admiral Dreyer has had a notable career. Born in 1878, he was educated and trained for the Navy, which he entered in 1891, specialising in gunnery. From 1910 to 1912 he was Flag Commander to Vice-Admiral Sir John Jellicoe, and later in the ! Battle of Jutland, commanded the flagship of the Grand Fleet, H.M.S. Iron Duke as Flag Captain to Admiral Jellicoe. After working on the Naval Staff he was appointed Commodore and Chief of Staff to Admiral Viscount Jellicoe in the naval mission to India and the Dominions in 1919 and ,1920. Since that time he has occupied many important positions in the fleet and with the Naval staff.
