Inquest Verdicts.-—At an inquest i yesterday into the death of Joseph ; Cross, aged 63, a Fortobello farmer : and county councillor, who was found 'dead on May 11, the coroner returned ! a verdict of suicide by shooting. An inquest was also concluded into the death of George Woodland, aged 67, who was discovered dead in bed on May 11. The coroner found that the cause of death was gas poisoning.
