Harrier Running Opens At Kaikohe

The Kaikohe Amateur Athletic Club commenced its operations during the week-end, whan a harrier run was held. Considering the club’s membership, there was a good muster of runners, r

The run was a pack one, and the runners maintained a good steady pace over the five-mile course, which ran .along the metal road to Mr Phair’s home, where it continued over the hills for a short distance, to eventually, return to the road and back to the town through the Native School grounds.

The; club hopes to be able to commence its training schedule in a short while, when all athletes, both men and Women, tvho intend lb take part in the track and field events next summer will be trained and advised by fully qualified trainers. A different course, has been chosen by the club for the harrier run on Saturday next; - and another good field is anticipated.
