School For Golf Beginners
Kaikohe now possesses a reserve golf club.
As all good golfers must first spend endless and troublesome hours in practical and verbal study of the game, some kind hearted person has placed three golf holes in the Recreation ground, which afford novices ample room for practice, in a position where their outbursts will not prove troublesome.
A large number of young people, who intend to join the Kaikohe Golf Club once they can rid themselves of the annoying habits of shooting into the air or alternately digging into the earth, spend their Sunday afternoons cn this amateur course, and they derive considerable amusement from the three holqs. As a result of this prolonged individual practice, the players concerned are gaining confidence in their play and control over their tongues, and will soon be ready to take the next step—that of joining the Kaikohe club.
All beginners, who are members of this club, are now given expert coaching in the best strokes of golf by one of Kaikohe’s most prominent golfers, Mr P. M. Williams.
Mr Williams has now commenced an instructional course at the l Recreation Hall, and a large number of young golfers will shortly benefit by the advice of a fully experienced golfer.
A message from Sydney states that under the new transport regulations, people wearing bathing costumes or trunks will bo forbidden to travel on trams and buses in Sydney and Newcastle metropolitan districts.
