History of Bay Of Islands to Be Compiled

Approval of a 60,000-word book, embracing the history of the Bay of Islands, as a Centennial memorial, has been given by the Auckland Provincial Centennial Council Executive. Estimated cost of the publication is £2OO, and the responsibility of compiling 'and editing the book will rest with the Rev. M. H. Wybert, Vicar of Waimate North.

When the executive met on Saturday night, the joint permanent, secretaries reported that they thought 'the publication satisfied all requirements of the National Council, and they recommended that it be referred to the National Historical Committee for transmission to the National Council for approval.
