Hikurangi and City Win Saturday's Rugby League Games

A FTER HAVING DEFEATED CITY LAST WEEK, HIKURANGI SCORED A DECISIVE WIN FROM KAMO AT HIKURANGI ON SATURDAY TO BE THE FIRST TO CO ME TO THE FRONT IN THE NORTHLAND RUGBY LEAGUE’S 19 39 SENIOR COMPETITION.

The first spell was a hard-fought round which t,|ided with Hikurangi in the lead by 11 points to 3. but in the second half the home Ipacks took charge and raced away to the tune of 30 to six. Kamo, which was last week beaten by Portland, is not yet .at full strength. At Jubilee Park City turned the tables on Portland by a very close margin, being lucky to win by 10 points to eight.

Conditions were good, with soft grounds but clear skies until late in the day, when light rain fell at the park.
