N.Z. Loses To Britain
DAVIS CDF TENNIS
(Received 1.30 pan.) LONDON, May 13. After leading by two matches to one, the New Zealand Davis Cup tennis team lost its contest with Groat Britain, at Brighton, Sussex. Each team won a singles on Thursday, and New Zealand won the doubles on Friday. Both the remaining singles, upon which the result of the contest depended. were won by the British players. The scores in the final singles were: — R. H. Shayes (Great Britain) beat A. D. Brown (New Zealand), C-3, fi-4, 7-5; C. E. Hare (Great Britain) beat C. E. Malfroy (Nov/ Zealand), 7-5. G-4, G-4.
